AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS
Australian Business is the only organisation in the UK bringing together professionals
and companies with Australian interests through business opportunities and
events. Australian Business is a membership-based organisation, representing
approximately 1400 corporate and individual members. We are set up to promote the
interests and business of our members as well as to promote bilateral trade between
the UK, Europe and Australasia.
- Following a merger of the Australia and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCC) and
Australian Business in Europe (ABIE), founded in London in 1914 and 1975 respectively,
Australian Business was launched in March 2005 at Australia House, London.
- The longevity and stability of its two founding organisations ensures that Australian
Business is strongly supported by European and Australasian businesses as members.
- Through the services of Australian Business, members are able to improve the brand
awareness of their company, increase their professional networks and gain greater
access to market information.
- Individuals are also able to be members of Australian Business and to use the 25+
events hosted each year to enhance their personal and professional networks.
- Australian Business is a non-profit organisation. Although it is not government funded,
Australian Business is supported by both the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions,
with the Australian High Commissioner, John Dauth LVO, as patron.
There are many benefits to becoming a member of Australian Business including invitations
to networking, sporting and cultural events, informative monthly newsletters, and
access to a variety of avenues to promote business. A selection of the companies
now represented by Australian Business include Anglo American, Qantas, HSBC, Goldman
Sachs JB Were, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rolls-Royce, Treasury Wine Group, Rio Tinto, BHP
Billiton, Macquarie Bank and both the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions.
